Road from Ishkashim to Faizabad. Poppy fields less than 50 yards from road (frequented by Police, Militry, Government, NGO). Scratch marks are "nash", cutting with a couple of blades. From these wounds the opium seeps out. Opium is harvested multiple times from each plant, thus multiple nash marks. Some of these plants show as many as 7 marks with room for more, sign of plentiful harvest.
